Why Us

Miller Dance is Norwich´s premier Dance hall. In fact, we would boldly go as far as saying, the only purpose built, professional dance studio in Norfolk! Where other Dance companies work from a rented village hall or share with other leisure industry groups in a sports hall, we have our own facility which provides ample parking for up to 12 cars, changing and shower facilities, air conditioning, café area and DJ booth.

Our floors are not only the biggest in the region but also professionally looked after and maintained and staff are here from 10:00 am till 10:00 pm to look after you. We have a wide demographic of clients from kids to adolescents and teens to retired types and we all love to dance!

Richard Miller

Co-Director & Partner at Miller Dance Studios. M.I.D.T.A. ballroom & Latin

Richard Miller is Co-founder, Partner and Head Instructor of Miller Dance Studios.

Richard's passion for dance began when he was 10 years old. Since then it has flourished and created for him and his family Norfolk's premier Ballroom & Latin Dance Studios.

Along with his wife and dance partner, Lynn and with help from many international trainers they became over a short period of time, East Anglian Champions many times over. Later to also take on the mantle of National champions and European Cup Winners with Honours.

Richard is also an adjudicator and provides music to many of the dance competitions and events around the UK. He also works with DSI dancewear, manufacturers for the dance industry and TV in London, and hosts DSI TV which can be found at www.dsi-london.tv and is a regular feature on BBC Radio Norfolk as their dance expert and commenting and blogging on the BBC's successful dance programme 'Strictly Come Dancing'.

And if that’s not enough, Richard has also created, with help from his wife Lynn, The Miller Dance System! Something we are very proud of here at the Studios.

Lynn Miller

Lynn took her first dancing steps at the age of 5 attending Ballroom & Latin dance classes at a local dance school close to where she was living. After being truly bitten by the dancing bug, Lynn, a few years later, took up disco dance lessons amongst others but eventually took her dance exams in her original love of Ballroom & Latin.

After teaming up with Richard a while later, they travelled together extensively, learning from the best and entering semi-pro competitions. After a very successful rise to the top of both the East Anglian and European scene, with numerous trophies to boot, Lynn and Richard soon decided to start their own dance studio with the intention of introducing youngsters a new and exciting hobby.

Lynn loves working with the children and seeing them grow and expand with confidence. She is great a putting people at ease and is very much at home teaching both newcomers with zero experience to somebody who is very serious about achieving their ultimate goal and competing.

Lynn is also a very proud mum and puts many hours of hard work into helping their son, Luke, achieve his dream as a professional dancer - one dream that we all think is well and truly on its way to being completed. As Lynn and Richard have said, “we are extremely proud of our son and his achievements, both as a dancer and as a man”.

Luke Miller

Can you imagine having a World Champion teaching you?

What an opportunity!

Luke Miller is a competitive dancer and a former U16 British and World Ballroom and Latin Champion.  In 2014 at the British Nationals and with his partner, Laura Robinson, Luke became the British number two U21 Latin Champion - an amazing achievement considering these exciting and fastest rising Latin stars had only been dancing together for six months. Luke and Laura are also currently placed 5th in the World.

Like his parents, Luke began his career at the age of 5 and since then his passion for Ballroom and Latin dancing has taken him from one stage to another including giving demonstrations for various dance schools and organizations in the UK and Worldwide.  At a very young age, Luke even appeared on TV shows like Britain´s Got Talent and the ever so popular dance show, Strictly Come Dancing!

When he is not competing, Luke is a dedicated dance instructor here at Team Miller and on the UEA Dance Sport circuit - and if that’s not enough he is also a qualified Fit-Steps instructor - a new dance class combining Latin dancing with cardio-vascular exercises.

Julie Clements

Office Manager at Miller Dance Studios.

Julie has been our Office Manager since 1997 and like every single one of our team, she is an invaluable member and makes the everyday running of the office a piece of cake.

Julie, like all our team members is passionate about Ballroom and Latin dancing and along with her husband she regularly attends our events and enjoys the community and friendly atmosphere at the Miller Dance Studios.

When you phone, Julie will undoubtedly be the voice at the end of the line giving you all the info you need to get you started and more than likely one of the friendly faces you will encounter when you step through our doors!

Patricia Soane

Customer Services and Administration Assistant

Pat has been working for us at Miller Dance Studios for over 14 years as one of our customer service representatives and as an administration assistant to Julie, the Office Manager.

She works at the studios in the evening, part time and when not on the phone or chatting with our clients, she takes Ballroom & Latin lessons with her husband, here at Studio 1.

Pat is extremely customer orientated and loves meeting new clients as well as sharing stories and experiences with our existing ones. She is always on hand to help and is an invaluable and well respected member of our team.

Linda Bell

Customer Services Representative

Linda has worked at the Studios since 2007 as our customer services representative. She is a wonderfully gifted and creative team member who loves to dance and compete in various competitions.

She takes great pleasure in meeting customers and seeing them blossom in to dancers, be it to a social or a competitive level and enjoying the confidence that it gives to them.

She had her first experience of dancing taking lessons with Richard at Lynn at the studios many years ago, since then she joined our team and looks forward to hearing from you whether you are a new or existing client.

Claire Grace

Part time teacher

Claire started dancing at 8 but has been professionally dancing for the last 9 years in Latin & Ballroom.

Claire has been with us as a part-time teacher for the past 8 years and is an invaluable team member here at Miller Dance. It is quite clear to all her students that dance is her passion and we receive many great comments on her enthusiasm and teaching ethics.

She has achieved Honours in the President Award 1 in both ballroom and Latin and regularly competes in the open circuit where she has reached the National Finals in Ballroom.

Claire teaches at both the Norwich studio as well as at the UEA and loves helping couples choreograph their wedding dances from music which they feel is unique to their lives and experiences.

Natalie Curston

Part time Teacher

Natalie started out with us as a student at the age of 7 learning Latin and Ballroom.

Since then she has graduated with a BA Honors degree in Drama and now teaches part time with us at Miller Dance Studios on Saturday mornings with our children´s Latin & Ballroom group classes and a few private lessons. Teaching children is definitely Natalie´s strength as during the week Natalie is Head of Drama at Caister High School.

Along with her partner she also enjoys competing in regional and national dance competitions where she has won several trophies.

We will introduce you to a variety of Latin and Ballroom dance steps and easily lead you through them with our own Miller Dance Steps system!
